Transport Trio Meeting at Brdo

Brdo, 20 December 2007 – Minister of Transport, Radovan Žerjav, M.Sc., met the German Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee and the Portuguese Minister for Public Works, Transport and Communications Mario Lino today at Brdo.

The meeting, which was focused especially on the exchange of views concerning the realization of the 18-month presidency and on priority projects from the transport field during the Slovenian presidency over the EU Council, was realized in a informal working atmosphere. The Slovenian transport minister has after the talks, for the press statement, said among other things: " We looked back, so that we will be able to walk forward. And by that I mean the realization of the joint 18-month programme in the frame of which the trio attained already numerous achievements. I would like to expose just a few of them: the progress concerning the Galileo project is of great importance, but I must also expose the acievements concerning tha safety and the liberalization of the inner market in the aviation field, railways' interoperability and maritime safety."
He also said that Slovenia is going to continue with the realization of the trio programme. During the Slovenian presidency a special emphasis is going to be on the transport security, railways, Western Balcans and the Galielo project.
