Decision to establish Public Agency for Civil Aviation

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued a Decision Establishing the Public Agency for Civil Aviation

The organisation of the agency – the competencies of which will be taken over from the Ministry of Transport – the powers of agency officials and financing will enable the new institution to implement consistently the policies and tasks stipulated in EU legislation.

Experts in aviation operations, maintenance, airworthiness, licensing, airports and air fields, navigation and the protection of civil aviation will undertake constant monitoring to ensure that all the relevant natural or legal persons comply with aviation legislation.

The agency will also provide certification procedures which will provide appropriate support for Slovenian and international manufacturers of aeronautical products in ensuring air security, development and marketing. In addition, the agency will perform other activities which will include preparing international and national analyses, civil aviation training, and the funds to pay highly trained workers with the necessary experience (pilots, air traffic controllers, airplane maintenance personnel, meteorologists etc.).

The agency is based in Ljubljana, where the founder can currently provide appropriate premises.
