Budget proposals for 2017 and 2018 for Infrastructure Ministry

Under the budget proposals for 2017 and 2018, the Infrastructure Ministry would get EUR 729 million in 2017, which is EUR 70 million more than this year, and EUR 796 million in 2018. 334 infrastructure projects for state roads are planned in next two years.

Most of the funds (70%) would be earmarked for investments into railways and state roads and more than 10% would go to sustainable mobility. Under the proposal funds for the energy sector would be doubled for next year, for a total of EUR 42m.

Among the priorities highlighted by minister Peter Gašperšič are several sections on the railway network, including a connection to the southern city of Kočevje, and renovations and the construction of state roads, including the conclusion of the Draženci-Gruškovje highway section. More money was earmarked for state roads and sustainable mobility.
