Agreement for EUR 44 million concluded with European Commission for the second track preparatory works

The agreement for using the already earmarked EUR 44.3 European grant for preparatory works for the second railway track between Divača and Koper with the European Commission has been reached.

"Today's annex to the agreement provides for the funds to be transferred to Slovenia's Ministry of Infrastructure. The Ministry is also responsible for the implementation of the project", said in Brussels Jure Leben, State Secretary and added that "it is also agreed with the Commission that the preparatory works will be carried out by the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency and 2TDK. The agreement shows Slovenia's commitment to the project and I hope that its implementation will commence within this Government's term."
 
He explained that the sum of EUR 109 million for the construction of seven tunnels obtained under the CEF Transport Blending Call for Proposals will not be unblocked until the official results of the referendum are published.
