Charter flights between Japan and Slovenia

All Nippon Airways (ANA), the biggest Japanese airline, will conduct five charter flights between Japan and Slovenia from June to September, was concluded today in Tokyo by State Secretary Jure Leben and Yuji Hirako, President of the Board of ANA. The discussion partners also elaborated on the possibilities to establish regular flight connections between the countries. ANA expressed an interest that a bilateral air service agreement be concluded between Japan and Slovenia as soon as possible.

At a separate meeting, State Secretary Leben met Katsunori Takahashi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. They spoke about improving the cooperation between the countries in the field of logistic connections and aviation. The Japanese side emphasised that with regard to logistics the Port of Koper has a geostrategic advantage over other North Adriatic ports, but it must ensure suitable rail connection with the hinterland.
The discussion partners agreed that countries would continue the preparation of a bilateral air service agreement and that a temporary agreement between the countries is established in the intermediate period for the so-called codesharing.
